Adding It Up

Adding it Up: Helping Children Learn Mathematics was first published by the National Research Council in 2001, and was updated in 2003. If you teach math, this book is essential reading for you.  Adding it Up speaks to concerns that too few students in Pre-K through 8th grade are acquiring the necessary mathematical skills and knowledge to be successful.  It also talks about what realistically needs to be done to boost the mathematical performance of our students.  It’s not a very long or difficult read and you can access it online free by following this link:
